Granite countertops are made from granite slabs which is a metamorphic rock. Most slabs come with natural veins that form due to the minerals found within the earth where the stone forms. They are also known as impurities, and different ones result in varying colours, which adds to the stone’s natural beauty. This gives it a unique appearance and ensures that no two pieces of granite are alike.

It is highly unlikely that your quartz countertop will chip due to daily wear and tear, but the edges are more susceptible than the middle portions. However, when hit with blunt force, the countertop can chip in areas where the object makes an impact. While these occurrences may not be covered by the manufacturer warranty, chips can generally be repaired, depending on the scope of damage.
