Although quartz countertops are naturally glossy and require minimal maintenance, little care is needed to ensure they maintain their lustre. Clean the countertop with soap and warm water daily, wipe up spills immediately, remove dried gunk by using a hard-plastic scraper and use non-abrasive cleaners.

Quartz countertops are scratch-resistant but using a cutting board is recommended to keep them in top shape. Also, it is advisable to use hot pads or a trivet on countertops for placing hot cookware to avoid burn damage.

Fixing a chip in quartz countertop requires specialty tools and skills. We recommend consulting a stone care professional instead of DIYing it.

All products come with warranties. The period of warranty may vary from a few years to lifetime, depending on the brand and also the type of material used.

Quartz is the second most commonly found mineral on earth. It is a crystalline form of silicone typically found in igneous, sedentary and metamorphic rocks. Its colour comes from impurities present in amethyst, cairngorm and citrine. It is a highly durable material and can be used commercially in many ways, from electronics to building materials.
The biggest quartz mines are in Arkansas and Brazil, but quartz can be found all around the world. The biggest quartz crystal ever found was in Brazil and weighed well over 44 tons. Mountaintops, beaches, deserts and rivers all contain high quantities of the mineral.

Quartz costs around the same as natural stones like marble and granite. However, prices may vary depending on the grade of stone and its pattern or designs.

Caring for your quartz countertop is easy since the surface is non-porous, making it hard to stain. But, for everyday cleaning, use mild dish soap with water. Steer clear of abrasive and harsh cleaners, especially ones that contain bleach. If you are dealing with a substance that has hardened, gently scrape it off with a plastic putty knife.

Quartz is one of the most durable countertop surface materials and is generally scratch resistant with regular use. However, it isn’t indestructible and can be damaged with extreme abuse. Remember, always use a cutting board when using sharp knives to avoid unnecessary hassle.

Granite is a scratch and stain-resistant material, but if your countertop gets damaged in any way, it can be repaired. Call our professional installers to take care of the issue for you. But, remember it is best to practice caution when dealing with sharp knives and extreme heat.

Quartz is great at resisting heat compared to laminate but is not as resistant as stone alternatives like granite. This means it is best to be careful when using hot pots and pans around the surface. The resin used on the worktop is what makes it susceptible to direct heat. Use hot pads and trivets to avoid damaging the surface.

Yes. When you visit our Mississauga or Markham warehouses, you get to choose the stone slab yourself from our wide range of options.

Quartz’s non-porous and hard surface is resistant to stains, but it is best to be careful. It can resist wine, coffee, juice and oil, among other common spills but isn’t immune to stains from permanent markers, sodium hydroxide and other solvents. In case you are dealing with a permanent marker stain, cover it with hairspray and blot it using a cloth to get rid of as much of it as possible. Then wipe using a damp cloth. If this doesn’t help, apply toothpaste and let it sit on the stain for at least 10 minutes before wiping it away with a damp cloth.

It isn’t necessary for you to seal quartz countertop like you do with other natural stone alternatives.

Quartz is considered an excellent option for kitchen countertops as it is known to be one of the hardest materials available. Its non-porous nature helps prevent bacteria, mildew and water from soaking into the work surface.
